In accordance with our mission to serve the children in our community, one of the goals of the Northern Columbus Kiwanis Club is to encourage and support higher education. In 2020 we awarded college scholarships to three outstanding students: Thomas Worthington High School students Eleanor Weiker and Leah Lindemeyer; and Whetstone HS student Louis Schirmer. Once again Northern Columbus Kiwanis will offer college scholarships worth $1000.00 to graduating high school seniors. Students attending Whetstone, Thomas Worthington, Worthington Christian, Bishop Watterson and Linworth Alternative. are eligible to apply. Also, if you are a student at another high school you may also be eligible to apply for this scholarship.
Northern Columbus Kiwanis teamed up with Whetstone HS Key Club members for a worthy cause packing Buddy Boxes of food at the Family Mentor Foundation. 540 boxes were packed for hungry kids who need food for the weekend. The program benefits kids in Worthington, Columbus and South-Western City school districts. Kiwanian Sam Kiner handed a donation to FMF Program Coordinator Susie Drerup.
