In continuing our 30-year tradition support of higher education, the Northern Columbus Kiwanis Club is once again accepting applications for scholarships. The 2023 Northern Columbus Kiwanis Scholarship worth $1000.00 will be awarded to three qualifying students of the current high school graduating class. Students who will be attending a four-year or two-year college or university beginning in the summer or fall of 2023, will be considered for a scholarship. TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THE SCHOLARSHIP YOU MUST SATISFY ONE OF THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS:
You attend one of the following high schools: Whetstone, Thomas Worthington, Linworth Alternative, Worthington Kilbourne, Worthington Christian, Bishop Watterson; OR
Your permanent residence is in Worthington City School District , but you are attending a high school outside the District; OR
Your permanent residence is in the Whetstone Catchment Area (you live within the Whetstone School Attendance Zone), but you are attending a high school outside this Area.
Scholarship recipients will be selected on the basis Scholarship (grades, courses taken, academic societies, etc.), Financial need (FAFSA), Volunteer activities, Extracurricular activities, Leadership and Service. All applicants will be considered equally regardless of race, religion, gender, national origin, sexual orientation or disability.

April 21………………………Scholarship recipients will be notified.
May 4………………………..Awards dinner
In addition to completing the SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION below, the following documents must also be submitted:
TRANSCRIPT OF GRADES, including grade point average and class rank (if provided by school). The transcript MUST be completed through the junior year and officially verified by the High School Counseling Office. Please instruct your High School Counseling Office to email your grade transcript to [email protected], with your name on the subject line.
TWO LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION,completed by a school counselor, principal, teacher, community contact, employer, clergy, etc. Individuals submitting a LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION on your behalf can complete and submit the form online by clicking HERE.

It will be at The Avalon of New Albany, 245 E Main St, New Albany, OH 43054. Kiwanis of New Albany will be hosting poker and euchre tournaments. April 22, 2023.
It will be a fun event with complimentary snacks and where you can purchase beer while playing. There will be a four-beer limit while playing poker. Disorderly behavior is unacceptable.
We are shooting for a four-hour game; with the following rules. The rules will be the standard no-limit, small-stakes poker.
Texas Holdem: $600 Payout - 1st $400, 2nd place $200 - NO 1099 The buy-in is $50, with one rebuy allowed if you go bust. The Buyin gets you $5,000 in chips of 25,50,100 and 500 denominations. The blinds will start at 25/50 and double every 20 minutes.
The room will be six tables and 36 players. Our last events before Covid sold out instantly, but this is our 1st post-Covid event. We advise you to Pre-register and pay; we accept applicants in the order of payment received.
